There are options for clients of LPL Financial LLC broker Maryanne Bessler (CRD# 2192223) who suffered investment losses. Bessler has been registered with LPL Financial LLC in Lynbrook, New York since 2011.
Bessler has been the subject of two customer complaints between 2008 and 2020, one of which was denied, according to her CRD report:
May 2020. “Claimant alleges respondent recommended that her late husband invest in certain alternative investments and variable annuities which were unsuitable for his investment profile. Claimant alleges that LPL failed to adequately supervise its registered representative who recommended the investments, thereby causing her and her family monetary damages. Activity period – July 2014 to May 2020.” The customer sought $158,086.56 in damages and the case was settled for $115,000. The complaint was regarding variable annuities and alternative investments.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, LPL Financial LLC may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Bessler’s customers.
