In December 2016, Alabama securities regulators issued a cease and desist order to Hardwick. According to Hardwick’s CRD, “Mr. Hardwick solicited and sold working interests in oil and gas ventures to Alabama residents without being properly registered as an agent.” This is currently pending.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Texas Securities, Inc. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Hardwick’s customers.
