Unsuitable Investments Options Due to Recommendations by Morgan Stanley Broker Martin Speyer

Erez Law is currently investigating Morgan Stanley broker Martin Speyer (CRD# 432002) regarding unsuitable investment options. Speyer has been registered with Morgan Stanley in Beverly Hills, California since 2009.

Speyer has been the subject of nine customer complaints between 1989 and 2019, one of which was denied and one was closed without action, according to his CRD report. Recent complaints are regarding:

  • August 2019. “Claimant alleges, inter alia, unsuitability with respect to investments – Aug, 2007- Aug, 2013.” The customer is seeking $750,000 in damages and the case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding options.
  • January 2019. “Claimant alleges inter alia, unsuitability with respect to investments – August 2014 – October 2018. The complaint was settled for $13,500. The complaint was regarding common and preferred stocks and options.

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Morgan Stanley may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Speyer’s customers.
