Erez Law is currently investigating Morgan Stanley financial advisor Anthony Mampieri (CRD# 1653703) regarding investment recommends in structured notes. Mampieri has been registered with Morgan Stanley in Columbus, Ohio since 2010.
A structured note is a debt obligation that tracks both the underlying debt obligation and the derivative embedded within it. Structured notes increase the bond’s potential returns by changings its profile and including modifying structures. The return of a structured note is based on equity indexes and is linked to the performance of an underlying index, asset or group or assets.
Mampieri has been the subject of one customer complaint, according to his CRD report:
October 2016. “Claimants alleged, inter alia, unsuitability with respect to structured product investments – 2011 to 2016.” The customer is seeking $891,245.77 in damages and the case is currently pending.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Morgan Stanley may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Mampieri’s customers.
