Mutual Fund Losses with Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. Broker John Grillo

Erez Law is currently investigating Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. broker John Grillo (CRD# 2643787) regarding mutual fund losses. Grillo has been registered with Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. in Carrollton, Georgia since 2008.
Grillo has been the subject of two customer complaints between 2018 and 2020. , according to his CRD report:
February 2020. “Client alleges fund was misrepresented and unsuitable.” The customer is seeking $140,000 in damages in this pending complaint. The complaint was regarding mutual funds.
June 2018. “The claimants allege their investments were placed in a risky mutual fund that was unsuitable for them.” The customer sought $447,000 in damages and the case was settled for $270,000. The complaint was regarding mutual funds.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Grillo’s customers.
