Former Corinthian Partners, L.L.C. Client Wins $3.2 Million FINRA Arbitration

In January 2018, a former client of Corinthian Partners, L.L.C. won an award in a FINRA arbitration for compensatory damages for $3,229,097 plus interest on the above-stated sum at the rate of 2.5% per annum from July 17, 2017 until the award is paid in full. The investors were clients of financial advisor Victoria VanDyke (CRD# 1359504).

The causes of action included negligence; suitability; breach of fiduciary duty; negligent supervision; violation of FINRA Rules 2090 and 2111; and control person liability. The causes of action relate to various securities including ETFs. The FINRA arbitration hearing was conducted in Newark, New Jersey.

In August 2017, VanDyke failed to respond to FINRA request for information and was barred by FINRA. Vandyke was registered with Corinthian Partners, L.L.C. in New York, New York from 1996 to 2016.

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Corinthian Partners, L.L.C. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by VanDyke’s customers.
