May 2024. “An unclear claim that certain investments did not perform. Focused primarily on investments made with the clients former broker that is now retired. 2010 – 2020.” The customer is seeking $3,000,000 in damages. The complaint was regarding private placement losses.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Herbert J. Sims & Co, Inc. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Shane Applebaum’s customers.
