Erez Law is currently investigating LPL Financial LLC broker Mitchell Griffin (CRD# 3129686) regarding variable annuity investment losses. Griffin has been registered with LPL Financial LLC in Columbus, Mississippi since 2017. Previously, Griffin was registered with Axa Advisors, LLC in Columbus, Mississippi from 2003 to 2017 and with The Equitable Life Assurance Society Of The United States in New York, New York from 1998 to 2000.

Griffin has been the subject of two customer complaints between 2017 and 2020, one of which was denied, according to his CRD report:

December 2020. “Claimants allege RR informed them that a variable product they purchased would have a guaranteed return.” The case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding variable annuities and took place while Griffin was registered with Equitable Advisors, LLC.

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, LPL Financial LLC may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Griffin’s customers.
