December 2021. “Customer alleges Firm failed to provide reasonable, adequate and meaningful supervision over Firm’s branch office, allowing its registered representative, to carry out a Ponzi scheme to defraud and misappropriate approximately $1,000,000.00.” The case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding a non-broker dealer affiliate product.
October 2021. “Customer alleges Firm failed to provide reasonable, adequate and meaningful supervision over Firm’s branch office, allowing its registered representative, to carry out a Ponzi scheme to defraud and misappropriate approximately $2,500,000.” The case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding a non-broker dealer affiliate product.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Henley & Company LLC may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Michael Laderer’s customers.
