I was giving too large of a discount, and was told this violated a “long-standing, unwritten policy.”
Kyle McLaughlin Customer Complaints
He has been the subject of two customer complaints between 2011 and 2025, according to his CRD report. The most recent complaint was regarding:
September 2025. “Client alleges, inter alia, unsuitability with respect to FA’s recommendation to open a Liquidity Access Line for investment purposes – Apr 2024 – Aug 2024.” The case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding a non-broker-dealer-affiliate product, and it took place while he was registered with Morgan Stanley.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Morgan Stanley may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Kyle McLaughlin’s customers.
