Lose Money Investing with Former Ameritas Investment Corp. Broker Kristian Gaudet?

Former Ameritas Investment Corp. broker Kristian Gaudet (CRD# 4190811) has three recent customer complaints investment losses due to the barred broker’s recommendations. Gaudet was registered with Ameritas Investment Corp. in Cut Off, Louisiana from 2003 to 2018, when he was terminated regarding, “Registered Representative was using client funds for personal use.”

In January 2019, FINRA barred Gaudet after he consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he “refused to appear for and provide FINRA on-the-record testimony concerning a Uniform Termination Notice for Securities Industry Registration (Form U5) his member firm filed stating that upon conclusion of internal investigation Gaudet was found to have utilized client funds for personal use. The findings stated that subsequently, FINRA sent Gaudet a request for on-the-record testimony. Gaudet acknowledged that he received FINRA’s request and will not appear for the requested testimony on the date scheduled or at any other time.”

In November 2018, FINRA opened an investigation against Gaudet which involved: “FINRA is reviewing the 4530 filed including suspicions that Mr. Gaudet was involved in fraudulent activities.”

Gaudet has been the subject of three customer complaints in 2019, according to his CRD report:

July 2019. “Finra arbitration 19-02023 in which claimants allege they experienced losses due to unsuitable investments and breach of fiduciary duty, failure to supervise and negligence.” The customer is seeking $538,500 in this pending customer complaint.

July 2019. “Finra arbitration 19-01801 claimants allege fraud, misrepresentation and negligent failure to supervise.” The customer is seeking $565,000 in this pending customer complaint.

February 2019. “Complainant alleges he was not informed withdrawals from the policy would incur a penalty and requests to be reimbursed withdrawal fees and that surrender penalty be waived.” The customer sought $6,914 in damages and the case was settled for $7,853.32.

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Ameritas Investment Corp. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Gaudet’s customers.
