Erez Law is currently investigating Independent Financial Group, LLC broker Jerry Tuma (CRD# 730104) regarding real estate investment trusts (REITs). He has been registered with Independent Financial Group, LLC in Dallas, Texas since 2012 as well as with Cornerstone Financial Services, Inc. in Dallas, Texas since 1987.

Jerry Tuma Customer Complaints

He has been the subject of five customer complaints between 2005 and 2022, two of which were denied, according to his CRD report. The most recent complaints are regarding: 

January 2022. “Claims investment was not suitable and was not in line with stated objectives.” The customer is seeking $200,000 in damages and the case is currently pending. The complaint took place while he was registered with Independent Financial Group, LLC and was regarding non-traded REITs.

December 2018. “The client engaged CFS in an advisory relationship beginning in 12/2017. The client alleged her account was not managed in accordance with her best interests. The client further alleged that certain management and product fees were excessive, in addition to claiming that she was invested in inappropriate products given her risk profile.” The customer is seeking $5,000 in damages and the case is currently pending. The complaint took place while he was registered with Independent Financial Group, LLC and Cornerstone Financial Services, Inc.

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Independent Financial Group, LLC may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Jerry Tuma’s customers.
