Erez Law is currently investigating Former LPL Financial LLC broker Carlos Leston (CRD# 3021614), who is accused of investment losses. He was registered with LPL Financial LLC in Weehawken, New Jersey, from 2008 through 2022. 

In October 2022, FINRA barred him after he “consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he refused to provide information and documents requested by FINRA.”

Carlos Leston Customer Complaints

He has been the subject of one customer complaint, according to his CRD report:

June 2023. “Complaint alleges fraudulent inducement to enter into promissory note purchases that were made away from the firm. Time period is May 2, 2019 through April 19, 2021. The promissory notes were with a company called Avanza Group LLC. Four note purchases totaling $850,000 are at issue in the complaint.” The case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding promissory note losses. 

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, LPL Financial LLC may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Carlos Leston’s customers.
