Previously, he was registered with Petersen Investments, Inc. in Wall, New Jersey from 2006 to 2019 and with Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc. in Manasquan, New Jersey from 1998 to 2006. 

Brian Clark Customer Complaints

He has been the subject of nine customer complaints between 1989 and 2022, two of which were denied and two were closed without action, according to his CRD report. The most recent complaints were regarding: 

May 2022. “Alleged excessive trading and inappropriate investments between 2008 and 2021.” The customer is seeking $815,157 in damages and the case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding common and preferred stocks and mutual fund losses and took place while he was registered with Cadaret, Grant & Co., Inc. and Petersen Investments. Inc.

July 2016. “Client alleged unsuitable investments and unauthorized trading in her account during the time period 2012-2016.” The customer sought $300,000 in damages and the case was settled for $75,000. The complaint was regarding common and preferred stocks and took place while he was registered with Petersen Investments. Inc.

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Petersen Investments, Inc. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Brian Clark’s customers.
