Juy 2022. “In a letter received from the client and her son, [REDACTED], who purports to be her current POA, they allege that her two investments in GWG Holdings, Inc., were unsuitable at the time the purchases were made, in September, 2019 and July, 2020. While the client and her now deceased husband have had a relationship with the firm since approximately 2016, the letter and the representative acknowledged that they have had a relationship for 20+ years, at previous broker/dealers.” The customer is seeking $100,000 in damages and the case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding direct investments and took place while he was registered with Capital Investment Group, Inc.
