Were you the victim of Spartan Capital Securities, LLC broker Kim Monchik (CRD# 2528972)? She has been registered with Spartan Capital Securities, LLC in New York, New York, since 2008.

In October 2021, FINRA named her in a complaint alleging that she failed to amend her Form U4 to disclose arbitration filings and resolutions, as she was the recipient of multiple consumer-initiated arbitrations alleging that she was involved in one or more sales practice violations. 

In November 2024, FINRA named her in a complaint alleging that, while as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), she failed to timely respond to requests to compel compliance. FINRA initially investigated the firm’s sales of membership interests in unregistered private funds. FINRA was required to exert a significant amount of regulatory pressure to obtain the information and documents that were important to its ongoing investigation into the firm’s and its registered representatives’ dealings with the private funds.

She has been the subject of five customer complaints between 2016 and 2025, according to her CRD report:

May 2025. “Respondeat superior.” The case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding private placements

March 2025. “Failure to Supervise.” The case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding common and preferred stocks. 

July 2024. “Failure to Supervise.” The customer is seeking $375,000 in damages, and the case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding private placements. 

November 2022. “August 2015 through July 2022. Failure to Supervise.” The customer is seeking $247,262 in damages, and the case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding private placements. 

April 2016. “Client alleges that his account was mismanaged by his registered representative. There are no specific allegations against the applicant.” The customer was granted $41,842 in damages. 

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Spartan Capital Securities, LLC may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Kim Monchik’s customers.
