He has been the subject of one customer complaint, according to his CRD report:
February 2022. “Claimant alleges in January 2020, Claimant wanted to liquidate accounts as Covid-19 became a potential scare to the market and liquidation orders were ignored for months until the Claimant’s accounts were liquidated without authorization. Claimant further alleges in July 2020, Claimant learned his accounts remained in cash and asked to be reinvested which did not occur until October 2020. Claimant finally alleges that when attempting to transfer from the firm in late January and early February 2022 orders were not executed.” The customer is seeking $300,000 in damages and the case is currently pending. The complaint was regarding mutual fund losses.
Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, Edward Jones may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Max Sulzberger’s customers.
