TD Ameritrade, Inc. broker Alex Shvartsman (CRD# 3017804) is accused of unsuitable investment recommendations. Shvartsman has been registered with TD Ameritrade, Inc. in Sayville, New York since February 2018. Previously, Shvartsman was registered with Scottrade, Inc. in Huntington Station, New York from 2016 to 2018 and previously with Newbridge Securities Corporation in New York, New York from 2014 to 2016.

Shvartsman has been the subject of three customer complaints between 2000 and 2019, according to his CRD report:

August 2019. “Client alleges the representative made an unsuitable recommendation not to sell out of his account.” The customer is seeking $1,700,000 in damages and the case is currently pending. This complaint is regarding common and preferred stocks and took place while Shvartsman was employed by TD Ameritrade.

Pursuant to FINRA Rules, member firms are responsible for supervising a broker’s activities during the time the broker is registered with the firm. Therefore, TD Ameritrade, Inc. may be liable for investment or other losses suffered by Shvartsman’s customers.
